LEATHERFACE (2016) Movie Poster & Image: Stephen Dorff, Texas Ranger

Leatherface

Leatherface Movie Poster and Movie Image Released. Well, well, well, yet another entry in the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) ‘saga’. It’s a shame how often this ‘franchise’ is mined for material and buried deeper into the grounds of ‘there was only ever one good one’. We’ve had the initial sequels in the 1980s, a Platinum Dunes remake (which, admittedly, has its fair share of striking visuals, unsettling moments, and a beautiful amount of gore), a prequel by the same company, and recently, yet another film that according to fellow reviewers, couldn’t make its mine up regarding the timeframe of its setting.

Now, it seems, we have another one. Take a look at the movie poster for Leatherface, before checking out the first movie image below.

According to Bloody-Disgusting, “The film centers around a violent teen who one day will become Leatherface. He escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates (Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloor, Jessica Madsen), kidnaps a young nurse (played by Vanessa Grasse) and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman (Stephen Dorff) out for revenge.”

Stephen Dorff is playing Texas Ranger Hal Hartman in this, likely mediocre, prequel. Take a look at him and Finn Jones, in action, below.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
