NARCOS: Netflix Renews Crime Drama TV Series for Seasons 3 & 4

Wagner Moura Holding Bullet Narcos Season 2

Narcos Renewed for Seasons Three and Four by Netflix

Netflix has revealed today that they are renewing Narcos for two more seasons. That will bring the series season total to four. This is surprising news when you consider the plot line for Season 2 and how it ended: “The DEA. Search Bloc. The Cali Cartel. Los Pepes. Now that Pablo was out of prison, everyone wanted payback. But the question remains, who killed Pablo?”

I have not seen the entirety of Season 2 yet but my guess is that after Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura)’s demise, DEA agents Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook) and Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) still had the Cali Cartel and and all the other mobsters / criminals to curtail. With Pablo dead, there would be a power, crime, and cocaine vacuum that many would try to fill. Seasons Three and Four will most-likely deal with the apprehension of those criminals.

The announcement trailer released with the renewal news confirms this supposition. The main bad guy in Season 3 of Narcos will be Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar), the head of the Cali Cartel.

Jose Padilha and Eric Newman will remain the executive producers of the Netflix TV series. No episode count or official release dates for the upcoming seasons of Narcos have been revealed at this time.

There is no word yet on what new characters will be introduced in Season but Season 2 of Narcos also starred Paulina Gaitan, Joanna Christie, Richard T. Jones, and Raúl Méndez.
