The Hunger Games Prequel Film Lands at Lionsgate

Lionsgate Films has landed the film rights to The Hunger Games prequel novel currently beginning written by Suzanne Collins. The book, set sixty-four years before the events in The Hunger Games, will be published on May 19, 2020.

Details on the storyline of the book:

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are and what we perceive is required for our survival,” Collins said. “The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

Joker Film will be Rated R

Todd Phillips‘ new The Joker film entitled Joker will be Rated R à la Logan.

Gladiator 2 Takes Place Decades after the Original

Gladiator 2 producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald had this to say about the sequel film: “It picks up the story 30 years later…25 years later…We’re working with an amazing writer as well — Peter Craig.,” Parkes said.

Lucius Frasers, the nephew Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) and son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), will reported be the main character in Gladiator 2. There is no word yet if Spencer Treat Clark will reprise his role as Lucius for the first Gladiator film.

A Quiet Place 2 New Plot Details

New plot details of A Quite Place 2 by new cast member Brian Tyree Henry. He had this to say in a recent interview: “We’ll see more of that family continuing to survive and finding out that they’re not the only ones. And I think that we’re also going to get a few answers to the origin of where and how this whole thing happened. I think that people want to know that. But I think you’re just going to see another side of it…more of humanity that survived this thing in this next story.”

Black Christmas Theatrical Film Remake on the Way

Horror classic Black Christmas has been green-lit for a second remake, this time by Blumhouse Productions.

Black Christmas‘ plot synopsis: “Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. One by one, sorority girls on campus are being killed by an unknown stalker. But the killer is about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t willing to become hapless victims as they mount a fight to the finish.”

April Wolfe wrote the screenplay for the Sophia Takal-directed film.

Black Christmas stars Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue, and Caleb Eberhardt.

The remake will be released in U.S. theaters on December 13, 2019.

Star Wars Celebration 2020 Dates Revealed by Disney

The next edition of Star Wars Celebration will take place in Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, California from August 27, 2020 through August 30, 2020. Ticket will be available for purchase on June 21, 2019 at a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. Eastern Time).
