The motion pictures now in-theater are from various Hollywood and independent movie studios. Weekend Impressions

Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the Number One film at the box office over the weekend. Coming off of the success of Avengers: Infinity War, people are eager to find out why Scott Lang / Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) was not involved in that film in any way. The reason for this was hinted at in the promos for this film and is a sales’ point for the film. Also a sales’ point is the debut of Evangeline Lilly as Wasp, the dynamic between Ant-Man and Wasp, their hijinks, and the plot of the film. Hopefully the plot of this film leads to Ant-Man and Wasp being a part of Avengers 4.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be Second this weekend at the box office. Only Ant-Man and the Wasp will make enough this weekend to surpass what Jurassic World 2 will make.

Incredibles 2 will be Third this weekend at the box office.

The First Purge will premiere in Fourth this weekend at the box office. This is only good horror film out in theaters right now besides The Quiet Place and at this point, the latter is only playing in a few select theaters. The former brings the old Purge formula to a new arena, the first incarnation of The Purge. That is about the only thing that sets this film apart from the other films in a franchise that has seen steady diminishing returns when it comes to the quality of its scripts and plot-lines.

Sicario: Day of the Soldado will be Fifth at the box office this weekend. This may be the last weekend in which Sicario: Day of the Soldado is in the Top Five at the box office, though next week’s releases do not look that strong.
