Alec Baldwin to Produce and Star in Western Film ‘Rust’

Alec Baldwin is set to produce and star in the independent western action film ‘Rust‘.

Alec Baldwin will produce the film, Rust, under his El Dorado Pictures production company, alongside Anjul Nigam, Anna Granucci, Matthew Helderman, and Elizabeth L. Barbatelli. Baldwin is an Oscar-nominated actor, has won 3 Golden Globes and 3 Emmy’s. He is also well known for his work on ’30 Rock’ and for his hilarious and very memorable impersonation of Donald Trump on ‘Saturday Night Live’, his Emmy’s being for those exact roles. Joel Souza, writer and director of ‘Crown Vic’ (which Baldwin was also a producer of), penned the script and will also direct the western action film. The story behind the film was developed by Souza and Baldwin as well.

Baldwin will portray the lead character, infamous Western outlaw Harland Rust, who has had a bounty on his head for as long as he can remember. When his estranged 13-year-old grandson, Lucas, is convicted of an accidental murder and sentenced to hand, he travels to Kansas to break him out of prison. Now, both being fugitives, the pair must outrun the legendary U.S. Marshal Wood and bounty-hunter Fenton ‘Preacher’ Lang, all while buried secrets emerge and an unexpected bond commences between the duo as they try to survive while on the run.
