SLEEPLESS (2017) Movie Trailer: Corrupt Cop Jamie Foxx is Trying to Recuse His Son

Jamie Foxx Sleepless

Sleepless Trailer

Baran bo Odar‘s Sleepless (2017) movie trailer stars Jamie Foxx, David Harbour, Michelle Monaghan, Dermot Mulroney, and Gabrielle Union. Sleepless‘ plot synopsis: “Sleepless stars Foxx as undercover Las Vegas police officer Vincent Downs, who is caught in a high stakes web of corrupt cops and the mob-controlled casino underground. When a heist goes wrong, a crew of homicidal gangsters kidnaps Downs’ teenage son. In one sleepless night he will have to rescue his son, evade an internal affairs investigation and bring the kidnappers to justice.”

This trailer sells the film very well: Triple 9 on steroids but with a far better storyline. The trailer does a disservice to Sleepless because it spoils a narrative twist, a point detail that should have stayed unrevealed. There are at least ten different ways this trailer could have been constructed without revealing one of the film’s secrets. One of the ways is that it is the remake of Nuit Blanche.

Sleepless has enough action and drama the plot detail reveal was completely unnecessary.

Sleepless also stars Kimberly Battista, Scoot McNairy, T.I., Sala Baker, Octavius J. Johnson, Steve Coulter, Carla Shinall, Briana Marin, Tim Connolly, and Matt Mercurio.
