This film will show enemies and fans of Edward Snowden a different side of him. I had not researched Snowden prior to this film being announced so I had no idea that he had attempted to join the United States Marines. His sense of patriotism is front and center behind his decision-making and that is a very important piece. May will find the early aspects of his life, shown in this film surprising and enlightening.

The question of whether or not Edward Snowden is a patriot or not is posed in this trailer. It is his personality that on display i.e. what was the ground work that led to his decision? That is what seems to be presented in this film.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Snowden accent is pretty spot-on as well and adds something to the words he speaks.

Snowden also stars Rhys Ifans, Nicolas Cage, Scott Eastwood, Joely Richardson, Timothy Olyphant, and Ben Schnetzer.
