Sleepy Hollow Renewed for Season 2. This recent Fox news answers the question of whether or not the cable TV station would renew the drama television show. The second season of Sleepy Hollow will be comprised of at least 13 episodes and will begin to air in 2014. The second season may possibly be extended to 22 episodes per season but that is mere speculation at this point.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who co-created Sleepy Hollow with the pilot’s director Len Wiseman and Phillip Iscove but are now under an overall deal at CBS TV Studios, are on board for Season 2. Also coming back is Mark Goffman, who joined after the pilot as an executive producer assisting Kurtzman and Orci with showrunning duties.

On the reasons why Sleepy Hollow was renewed:

Sleepy Hollow…strong premiere numbers but because of its consistency, opening with a 3.4 18-49 rating and, three weeks in, still staying above the 3 ratings threshold in live viewing (3.0). The series…is a huge DVR draw, earning a 5.0/13 rating among adults 18-49 and 13.6 million viewers for the premiere in Live+3, making it Fox’s most successful fall drama premiere since the debut of 24 in November 2001. With its encore, post-three-day playback on DVR and VOD and streaming, the Sleepy Hollow premiere has drawn an audience of more than 22 million to date.

Sleepy Hollow‘s plot synopsis: “Ichabod Crane wakes up from the throes of death 250 years in the future to find the world on the brink of destruction and learn he is humanity’s only hope. From co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the “Star Trek” and “Transformers” franchises, “Fringe”) comes the adventure thriller SLEEPY HOLLOW.

In this modern-day retelling of Washington Irving’s classic, ICHABOD CRANE (Tom Mison, “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen”) is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and that he is humanity’s last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer (Nicole Beharie, “Shame,” “American Violet”) to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers.”

Sleepy Hollow stars Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Richard Cetrone, John Cho, Gordon Dillard Jr., Ozzy Ojito, Jeff Strickland, Jahnee Wallace, Ebony Wilson, Katia Winter, Dwayne Boyd, Cabrenna H Burks, Huntington Daly, Chad Kurtz, Fabian Starr, and Mark Guy Thompson.
