SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 (2024): New Sequel to Start Shooting Without Principal Actors

Third Sonic the Hedgehog Movie To Begin Filming without Actors

The upcoming Paramount Pictures 2024 release, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, will begin shooting its scenes that do not involve human stars.

The actors’ strike is really starting to take a bit of a toll on the movie industry. The show is going on for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as the production crew is ready to start filming the sequences in the movie which do not involve its primary cast members. Consequently, a Sonic spin-off show based on the character from the movies named “Knuckles” will be appearing on Paramount Plus before the December 20, 2024 release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

On IMDB, the name of Jim Carrey was mysteriously absent from Sonic the Hedgehog 3′s cast list which opens up the question as to whether or not the superstar will return as the villain for the third installment in the Sonic series. While Carrey had been flirting with retirement, the actors’ strike will make it harder for him to appear in the upcoming movie. James Marsden and voice performers Idris Elba, Ben Schwartz and Colleen O’Shaughnessey will be reprising their roles as Tom, Knuckles, Sonic and Tails, respectfully. That is if or when the actors’ strike comes to a close.

In other news, Rachel Zegler’s scenes in the upcoming Paddington in Peru will not be happening right now either as the movie starts production with its non-Hollywood union cast. It’s an odd time for movies like these which center on CGI and special effects. Some work can be done on these films without all the performers but the efforts of the cast and vocal talent will have to be added in at a later date. That is especially hard on a production like Sonic the Hedgehog 3 which should rely on the human voice-over work to create suitable background images.

Last year’s Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a big box-office hit earning $190 million domestically but how well will the third film do if Carrey doesn’t participate? It should do about the same business regardless of Carrey’s presence although fans of Carrey admired his presence in the previous Sonic pictures. There should be a nice soundtrack in the third installment which could include a song similar to “Stars in the Sky” in terms of likability. That song was done by Kid Cudi and played during the second film’s end credits sequence.

As Sonic the Hedgehog 3 starts to film its scenes without the principal actors, audiences are gearing up for the spin-off show based on the “Knuckles” character which will hopefully stream sometime before the new movie is released. Getting to see the completion of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on time is one more reason that we hope the actors’ strike ends soon.
