SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND: Season 2: Cynthia Addai-Robinson replaces Lesley-Ann Brandt

Cynthia Addai-Robinson will replace Lesley-Ann Brandt in Spartacus: Blood and SandSeason 2 as Naevia. Cynthia Addai-Robinson replaces Lesley-Ann Brandt in Spartacus: Blood and Sand: Season 2 because she decided not to renew her contract in lieu of joining the cast of CSI: NY. “She just started a recurring role on CSI: NY and opted to also pursue broadcast pilots, which are currently casting.” I wish Lesley-Ann Brandt had returned to reprise her role like she did in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena but I can not exactly blame her with season 2 of Spartacus: Blood and Sand being up in the air for so long. In addition, CSI: NY has already been on the air for seven seasons and doesn’t look like it is going to be canceled any time soon. Spartacus: Blood and Sand only has a finite set of possible seasons before it will end. Lesley-Ann Brandt pay check will be longer with CSI: NY.

For those unfamiliar with the Naevia role on Spartacus: Blood and Sand:

Naevia was the [body] slave of Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) and lover of Crixus (Manu Bennett) in the first season of Blood and Sand. When season one ended Naevia and Crixus were discovered as lovers and the result was the young woman was taken away from the House of Baitiatus, leaving Crixus determined to find her.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson previous role was on ABC’s Flash Forward and she’s also appeared in several crime dramas including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, and Numbers.

She’s repped by Pantheon Talent and Liebman Entertainment.

I always knew there would be cast causalities because of the long delay. At least there weren’t more after Liam McIntyre replaced Andy Whitfield in Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
