Spider-Man 3 and Other Movie / TV Productions Resume Filming in Georgia

For the first time in over seven months due to COVID-19 restrictions, the state of Georgia is resuming film production on its grounds, and the most recent film to begin filming in Atlanta this week is Spider-Man 3, with Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker from the previous two installments of the Marvel Comic Universe series, Homecoming and Far From Home. This third installment has yet to be specifically titled, but other returning favorites will be Jamie Foxx as Electro (from The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange (who will be seen as Peter Parker’s “mentor” here), and Jon Watts once again will be in the director’s seat. Also slated to return are Marisa Tomei as Peter’s Aunt May and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, a reporter for The Daily Bugle.

The film’s release date is slated to be December 17, 2021. All additional information regarding this third installment has yet to be divulged to the public.

It was originally supposed to be released on May 25 of this year, but now has no set release date as of yet.

Bigger on BET+ has recently begun filming its second season and is still currently looking for paid extras. Netflix’s Stranger Things has resumed filming after the March production halt.
