Chris Evans in Talks to Return as Captain America in the MCU

Chris Evans may be donning the red, white, and blue again after all. Chis Evans is in final talks to play Steve Rogers / Captain America once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Evans had previously stated numerous times that his outing as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame would be his last time on-screen as the iconic superhero.

Times have changed and it seems that Disney wants a big name from the earlier phases of the MCU to still be present in the latter films. With Robert Downey Jr. retired from Iron Man, the second highest profile Avenger is Captain America.

I can’t imagine the amount of money that Marvel had to offer Evans to get him to even consider returning to his most notable role but with Downey’s hefty paycheck no longer a consideration, more funds are available, and I am guessing that Evans will receive a sizable portion of it (plus backend).

Evans involvement in the new phases of the MCU, however, will be limited. Evans may “return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film. Sources add it’s unlikely to be a new Captain America installment and more likely to be like what Robert Downey Jr. did after Iron Man 3, appearing in films like Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

The question is: how will this effect Samuel Thomas “Sam” Wilson  / Falcon becoming the new Captain America?
