TERMINATOR (2015): Tom Hardy, Emilia Clarke, and other Casting Rumors

New casting rumors regarding the Terminator reboot have surfaced. According to the rumors, Tom Hardy has been attached to the role of John Connor in the new installment in the legendary franchise. Other actors and actresses who might be competing for a place in Terminator (2015) are Taylor Kitsch, Nicholas Hoult, Garret Hedlund, Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson, Margot Robbie, and Boyd Holbrook.

Tom Hardy keeps the tradition in his successful career of roles portraying cultural icons. Following his casting in future and past landmark roles such as Bronson, Mad Max, Bane, and possibly James Bond lands this recent rumor / news. If true, Hardy would portray the fictional liberator of humanity from the artificial intelligence threat of Skynet. The last actor to portray the freedom fighter was Christian Bale so Tom Hardy will have plenty of expectations to live to up to. Taylor Kitsch from Battleship (2011) and Nicholas Hoult from X-Men: First Class (2011) are also on the line to portray John Connor, although it is obvious that Hardy is a better choice with his experience and talent.

Meanwhile, Garret Hedlund from Tron: Legacy (2010) and rising star Boyd Holbrook, who is set to perform in an untitled Terrance Malick project and the next David Fincher film Gone Girl (2014) are contenders for a supporting role of a young Kyle Reese, who is probably the same young version of the character from the last entry in the series Terminator Salvation (2009).

Actresses Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones, Brie Larson from Short Term 12 and Margot Robbie from The Wolf of Wall Street are being considered for a character that will be reintroduced in the new film: Sarah Connor. All of these choices are talented, rising, new actresses who might very well prove to be a decent follow-up to the previous actresses in the role: the excellent Lena Headey and Linda Hamilton.

The biggest news about Terminator remains the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his landmark role but surely the news of all those spectacular actors for supporting or main characters is more than welcome.
