THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN (2016) Teaser Trailer: Emily Blunt Sees Something Shocking

Emily Blunt The Girl on The Train

The Girl on the Train Trailer. Tate Taylor‘s The Girl on the Train (2016) teaser trailer star Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, Luke Evans, Rebecca Ferguson, and Laura Prepon. The Girl on the Train‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by Paula Hawkins, “The Girl on the Train is the story of Rachel Watson’s life post-divorce. Every day, she takes the train in to work in New York, and every day the train passes by her old house. The house she lived in with her husband, who still lives there, with his new wife and child. As she attempts to not focus on her pain, she starts watching a couple a few houses down — Megan and Scott Hipwell.

She creates a wonderful dream life for them in her head, about how they are a perfect happy family. And then one day, as the train passes, she sees something shocking, filling her with rage. The next day, she wakes up with a horrible hangover, various wounds and bruises, and no memory of the night before. She has only a feeling: something bad happened. Then come the TV reports: Megan Hipwell is missing. Rachel becomes invested in the case and trying to find out what happened to Megan, where she is, and what exactly she herself was up to that same night Megan went missing.”

I heard the buzz surrounding this book when it was released. Now I can see why. The narrative is basically a mystery wrapped in another mystery. Shrewd writing. Can the movie sustain that structure and that suspense for three acts? This film looks as though it will be a hit: it has the book’s audience and Emily Blunt fans for a one, two box office punch. The fact that the main character is that flawed yet decided to lead a personal investigation into a crime she might be implicated in is bound to be an entertaining viewing experience.

The Girl on the Train also stars Edgar Ramírez, Allison Janney, Justin Theroux, Lisa Kudrow, Marko Caka, Darren Goldstein, Nicole Bonifacio, Frank Anello, Lana Young, and Mauricio Ovalle.
