Langdon, Dr. Death, The Brides, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV mini-series casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on: NBC, ABC, CBS, and Peacock. Beware of spoilers in these casting announcements.

The Brides

Katherine Reis has been cast as Lily Stevens, “the youngest of the three Brides of Dracula, Lily is a striving singer in New York City whose relationship to a news reporter threatens to tear apart her marriage to her “sisters.” In her former life, she braved the streets of Jack the Ripper’s London, until being “rescued” by Dracula.”

Chris Mason has been cast as Roland Grant. a stylish real estate mogul who “arrives in town to challenge Cleo (Torres) — the “Queen of New York City real estate,” and the leader of the brides of Dracula — for professional supremacy. With secret ties to Dracula, Roland has a personal stake in the destruction of the Brides.”

Sophia Tatum has been cast as Justine Strang, “friendless and new to town, Justine shows up at the studio of Renée Pélagie, a top modeling agent in New York City — and the “middle” bride of Dracula. Renée soon takes this young, hungry, aspiring model under her wing, unaware that Justine may have a past with Dracula as well.”

The Brides‘ plot synopsis: “The Brides, a sexy contemporary reimagining of Dracula, is a family drama with a trio of powerful female leads at its heart, Cleo (Torres), Renée, and Lily (Reis). With strong horror elements, The Brides is a vampire soap about empowered, immortal women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy — and their nontraditional family.”

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the screenplay for the Maggie Kiley-directed pilot episode.

The Big Sky

Kylie Bunbury has been cast as Cassie Dewell, “a ex-rodeo rider turned private detective, Cassie is the junior partner of Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) at their firm, Hoyt and Dewell, who is eager to get involved in the case of the missing girls.”

This actress joins already cast: Katheryn Winnick, Ryan Phillippe, John Carroll Lynch, Brian Geraghty, and Dedee Pfeiffer.

The Big Sky‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by C.J. Box, “In the procedural thriller, private detective Cassie Dewell partners with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Winnick) on a search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. When they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken.”

David E. Kelley wrote the screenplays for The Big Sky.

NBC

Langdon

Ashley Zukerman has been cast as Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbologist.

Langdon‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by Dan Brown, Langdon “who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy…is set after the events of Da Vinci Code”

Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie wrote the screenplay for pilot episode.

CBS

Good Sam

Jason Isaacs has been cast as Dr. Paul ‘Griff’ Griffith, “a brilliant, arrogant, unrivaled Chief of Cardiothoracic surgery, a wizard with a scalpel. He’s notoriously hard on his residents – none more than his equally gifted daughter, Sam (Bush). But when he suddenly awakens from a months-long coma, he learns that Sam has become the new Chief of Surgery. The only way to resume his job is as her subordinate, an arrangement which, for him, proves harder than heart surgery.”

This actor joins already cast Sophia Bush.

Good Sam‘s plot synopsis: “Good Sam centers on Sam (Bush), a talented yet stifled heart surgeon who embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss, Griff (Isaacs), falls into a coma. When he awakens and wants to resume surgery, however, it falls to her to supervise this overbearing blowhard who never acknowledged her talents — and also happens to be her father.”

Katie Wech wrote the screenplay for the pilot episode.

Peacock

Dr. Death

Grace Gummer has been cast as Kim Morgan, “a highly capable, hard-charging registered nurse who is drawn into Duntsch’s (Dornan) web — both professionally and personally — by his apparent talent and ambition.”

Molly Griggs has been cast as Wendy Young, “Duntsch’s girlfriend, the mother of his children and the last remaining moral beacon for the man who would become ‘Dr. Death.'”

These two actresses join already cast: Jamie Dornan, Alec Baldwin, and Christian Slater.

Dr. Death‘s plot synopsis: based on the Wondery’s podcast, “Dr. Death explores the twisted mind of a sociopath and the gross negligence of the system designed to protect the most defenseless among us. It tells the disturbing true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Dornan), a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic and ostensibly brilliant, he was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow surgeons (Baldwin and Slater) and a young Assistant District Attorney set out to stop him.”

Patrick Macmanus wrote the screenplays for the TV series.
