Narcos: Mexico, Manifest, The Mandalorian, and other TV Show Casting

Narcos: Mexico, Manifest, The Mandalorian, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on: Netflix, NBC, Hulu, and Disney+. Beware of spoilers in these casting announcements.

The Mandalorian (Disney+)

Pedro Pascal has been cast as the main character, the titular Mandalorian, in the series.

Gina Carano has been cast in an unspecified role.

The Mandalorian‘s plot synopsis: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Jon Favreau wrote and will direct the series.

Veronica Mars (Hulu)

Clifton Collins Jr. has been cast as Alonzo, “a Mexican cartel hitman, who’s chosen to travel to Neptune due to his proficiency with English.”

Izabela Vidovic has been cast as Matty Ross, “who after losing someone important to her as a teenager, isn’t the type who’s content to sit back wait for justice, reminding Veronica of the girl she used to be.”

This actor joins already cast: Patton Oswalt, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Max Greenfield, Jason Dohring, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, and David Starzyk.

Veronica Mars‘ plot synopsis: “Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.”

Rob Thomas is writing the screenplay for the first episode.

Narcos: Mexico (Netflix)

Jesse Garcia has been cast as unnamed DEA agent “who volunteers for a dangerous assignment in Mexico.”

Narcos: Mexico‘s plot synopsis: “The new installment follows the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1980s as Félix Gallardo (Luna) takes the helm, unifying traffickers in order to build an empire. When DEA agent Kiki Camarena (Peña) moves his wife and young son from California to Guadalajara to take on a new post, he quickly learns that his assignment will be more challenging than he ever could have imagined. As Kiki garners intelligence on Félix and becomes more entangled in his mission, a tragic chain of events unfold, affecting the drug trade and the war against it for years to come.”

Narcos: Mexico stars Michael Pena, Diego Luna, Matt Letscher, Aaron Staton, Alfonso Dosal, Joaquin Cosio, Ernesto Alterio, Alyssa Diaz, Tenoch Huerta, Teresa Ruiz, Fernanda Urrejola, Horacio Garcia Rojas, Yul Vazquez, Lenny Jacobson, and Jackie Earle Haley.

Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro created and executive produce Narcos: Mexico, which is Season 4 of Narcos.

Narcos: Mexico will begin airing on Netflix on November 16, 2018.

Manifest (NBC)

Matt Long has been cast as Zeke, “a mysterious new character whose arrival triggers a new relationship triangle and upends the series’ mythology.”

Manifest‘s plot synopsis: “When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. But in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years – and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible.”

Manifest stars Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Parveen Kaur, Geraldine Leer, Andrew Sensenig, Mugga, Frank Deal, Katrina E. Perkins, Alfredo Narciso, Richard Topol, Andrew Sensenig, and Curtiss Cook.

Manifest is currently airing on NBC.
