Shut Eye (Hulu)

Jeffrey Donovan has been attached to one of Hulu’s upcoming projects. He will play the male lead on the streaming service’s in-house production, Shut Eye. The role will mark the second time the Burn Notice star has been featured as the lead in a television series. Deadline describes the role as follows:

Donovan will play Charlie Haverford, a failed magician who now works as a psychic/conman overseeing a number of fortune telling parlors in Los Angeles. Employed for many years by a Romani kingpin, Charlie’s life is stifled and going nowhere until a blow to the head jars him into a new mindset and makes him question everything he has ever believed. When his wife urges him to break out on his own, he’s careful – because he knows that one wrong move will land him in a shallow grave.

Twin Peaks (Showtime)

Fans of the David Lynch TV series Twin Peaks will be pleased to know that Sherilyn Fenn will reportedly reprise her role as Audrey Horne in Showtime’s revival of the television cult classic. If the reports are true, she is the only original cast member other than series lead Kyle MacLachlan set to reappear for sure in the new series.

Star Kyle MacLachlan is the only cast member confirmed for the new Twin Peaks season. Fenn is believed to be the highest-profile co-star from the ABC series to join him in the revival. (I hear fellow female co-star Lara Flynn Boyle has opted not to come back.) I had previously learned that Miguel Ferrer is reprising his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield from the original series, that Sheryl Lee was David Patrick Kelly is said to be reprising his role as Jerry Horne, and Richard Beymer is rumored to be resurrecting his character of Jerry’s brother and Audrey’s father Ben.

Laura Dern is also joining the cast of Twin Peaks but her role is being kept under wraps.

The Flash (The CW)

Kevin Smith will be directing an episode of The Flash this season. There is no word yet on which episode he will direct.

**** We hired Reggie, fulfilled our obligations to him, and he quit in the middle of covering two TV series w/ no notice and no explanation. He then ignored our emails asking him to complete his coverage (we had no one else to cover those TV shows). He didn't care. We regret hiring him and we regret putting our trust in him. **** An aspiring writer, longtime film junkie, and former UCLARadio.com disc jockey (where I graduated with a BA in Political Science), I've made the jump from penning book reviews and current events editorials for HonorSociety.org to writing movie and TV news and reviews. When I'm not working towards my certificate in Radio and Television/Video Production at Fullerton College, I enjoy reading (horror, science fiction, and historical/political nonfiction are particular favorites), participating in my school's TV and theatre clubs, attending movie screenings, plays, concerts, and other events, and trying to come up with pithy things to say on social media. Believe it or not, there are occasions where I find time to write for my own leisure.
