Marvel is assembling a field of actresses invited to test for the lead of the company’s straight-to-series drama Jessica Jones for Netflix.

I hear it includes Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer, [Marin Ireland,] and Jessica De Gouw. All fall within the 25-33 age range listed on the breakdowns for the role.

Spearheaded by Melissa Rosenberg, the 13-episode drama — the second in a four-series Netflix-Marvel deal — centers on Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.

Childhood’s End (Syfy)

Osy Ikhile (Clap!) has been tapped for a lead role in Syfy’s Childhood’s End…Ikhile…will play Milo.

Ashley Zukerman (Manhattan) is set for a lead role…Zukerman will play Jake Greggson, an American production designer with artistic sensibilities whose children begin to exhibit psychic powers.

Revenge (ABC)

Sebastian Pigott (Pacific Rim) has booked a recurring guest role on ABC drama Revenge. Pigott will play Lyman Ellis, Louise’s (Elena Satine) brother, a driven politician.

True Detective (HBO)

Michael Hyatt and Yara Martinez (Alpha House) are the latest additions to the cast of the upcoming second season of HBO’s True Detective…Hyatt…will play driven state attorney Katherine Davis (previously Colleen Thompson), who is not afraid to keep secrets to get her way. Martinez…plays Andrea, a Mexican-American immigrant who runs an inn.

Adria Arjona (Narcos) has been cast as a recurring on the upcoming second season of HBO’s True Detective…Arjona…will play Emily, Taylor Kitsch’s girlish but practical girlfriend.

The Michelle Knight Story (Lifetime)

Raymond Cruz has been cast as [Ariel Castro] in the movie

Written by Stephen Tolkin, The Michelle Knight Story explores the true story of Knight, whose life was forever changed by a chance encounter with Castro who abducted her on August 22, 2002, in Cleveland and held her as his prisoner in his home for more than 11 years.

Silicon Valley (HBO)

Chris Diamantopoulos has landed a recurring role in HBO comedy Silicon Valley…Diamantopoulos…will play Russ Hanneman, a successful businessman who takes interest in Pied Piper.

The Bastard Executioner (FX)

Kurt Sutter is bringing his trusted Sons Of Anarchy lieutenant, director/executive producer Paris Barclay, to his new FX drama project The Bastard Executioner. Barclay will direct and executive produce the pilot…Barclay is the second key member of the SOA crew to join Sutter on his new project, along with SOA star, Sutter’s wife Katey Sagal, who confirmed that she will have a role in the pilot.
