A WALK IN THE WOODS (2015) Movie Trailer: Redford & Nolte Hike The Appalachian Trail

A Walk in The Woods Trailer. Ken KwapisA Walk in The Woods (2015) movie trailer stars Robert RedfordNick Nolte, Emma Thompson, and Mary SteenburgenA Walk in The Woods‘ plot synopsis: “After spending two decades in England, Bill Bryson returns to the U.S., where he decides the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends.”

Well, it had to happen sometime. Robert Redford is now so old that he decided to take on a feel-good movie that will play well to the parents and the elderly alike. It will be the airplane movie on your next trip. Robert Redford and Nick Nolte scream at black bears. Robert Redford and Nick Nolte fall into the water together. Robert Redford and Nick Nolte are old together. What a blast.

Hopefully the narrative has more to offer than the most basic slapstick and sentimental clichés. The film is directed by Ken Kwapis who has directed He’s Just Not That Into You and episodes of the American The Office, so hope’s are fairly low. It is based on the memoir of Bill Bryson‘s journey, however, so there should be at least some intellectually stimulating discourse to mine. That may have all been sidelined in favor of a seemingly heart-wrenching, seemingly-comedic PG fest, however. We’ll see.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
