DiCaprio and Lawrence to Be Paired Together Again in Scorsese Film

Don’t Look Up stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are set to pair up again for a Martin Scorsese picture called What Happens at Night.

Oscar winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence may be nominated for Academy Awards yet again for their work this year in a couple of well-received films, One Battle After Another and Die, My Love. After these films come out, the stars will be teaming up together for a new drama from the legendary Martin Scorsese titled, What Happens at Night. Sprinkled with a few key supporting characters, the forthcoming Scorsese project will be about a married couple who travel to a snowy European town to try to adopt a baby. Apple Original Films is looking to help produce the project alongside StudioCanal.

So, the last time DiCaprio and Lawrence made a high profile movie together, Don’t Look Up, it resulted in an Oscar nomination for the very timely and effective end of the world film. DiCaprio did fine work in that picture and Lawrence acquitted herself nicely in the role she played opposite DiCaprio. Next up, that project with the Oscar-winning Scorsese at the helm. It has many colorful characters in the story line besides the couple that DiCaprio and Lawrence will be playing.

Apple TV+ will soon be showing a documentary from Rebecca Miller on the legendary Marty Scorsese called Mr. Scorsese which is in five parts. This documentary will also play at this year’s New York Film Festival as well. Scorsese has worked with DiCaprio countless times before in films such as The Departed and Killers of the Flower Moon.

Lawrence will next be seen in Die, My Love, a high-profile drama in which she is cast opposite the intriguing Robert Pattinson. Lawrence is expected to nab another nomination or two from the critics’ groups for her role in that film and maybe even an Oscar nod. Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to earn another Best Actor Oscar nomination for his work in One Battle After Another, a Paul Thomas Anderson directed action/drama which is due out next week. Lawrence earned her Oscar for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook and DiCaprio won his Academy Award for lead actor for The Revenant.

Scorsese (The Irishman) pretty much never hits a false note in his pictures and his chilly drama, What Happens at Night, is expected to showcase the director’s work at its most powerful and dramatic. With stars like DiCaprio and Lawrence on his side, this is a win-win proposition that could land Scorsese back at the Oscars yet again.
