THE LOST CITY OF Z (2016) Movie Trailer: Charlie Hunnam Searches for Amazonian City

Charlie Hunnam The Lost City of Z

The Lost City of Z Sales Trailer. James Gray‘s The Lost City of Z (2016) movie trailer stars Tom Holland, Charlie Hunnam, Sienna Miller, Robert Pattinson, and Angus Macfadyen. The Lost City of Z‘s plot synopsis, based on the book by David Grann: “Colonel [Percival Harrison Fawcett] was the last of a breed of great British explorers who ventured into ‘blank spots’ on the map with little more than a machete, a compass and unwavering sense of purpose. In 1925, one of the few remaining blank spots in the world was in the Amazon. Fawcett believed the impenetrable jungle held a secret to a large, complex civilization like El Dorado, which he christened the ‘City of Z’. When he and his son set out to find it, hoping to make one of the most important archeological discoveries in history, they warned that none should follow them in the event that they did not return. They vanished without a trace.”

This film has been in development for a while with Benedict Cumberbatch and Brad Pitt previously attached to star. Though not directly involved, Pitt’s production company Plan B is involved in the film.

This looks like Hunnam’s best film outing since Children of Men. It doesn’t hurt that this film will remind the viewer of part of the Sir Malcolm story-line in Penny Dreadful.

The Lost City of Z also stars Daniel Huttlestone, Edward Ashley, Johann Myers, Frank Clem, Bobby Smalldridge, Devlin Lloyd, Michael Jenn, Siennah Buck, and Stacy Shane.
