STEVE MCQUEEN: THE MAN & LE MANS (2015) Movie Trailer & Poster: Steve McQueen Narrates Filmmaking Doc

Steve McQueen The Man and Le Mans Trailer and Poster Arrive

Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans Movie Trailer and Poster. Gabriel Clarke and John McKenna‘s Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans movie trailer stars Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans‘ plot synopsis: “The story of obsession, betrayal and ultimate vindication. It is the story of how one of the most volatile, charismatic stars of his generation, who seemingly lost so much he held dear in the pursuit of his dream, nevertheless followed it to the end.”

This trailer does a good job of transporting you back in time to the 1970s when Steve McQueen was directing his somewhat poorly received Le Mans (1971), largely motivated by his own love of racing and the drive to compete in that way. He was a man’s man, racing, drinking, smoking, and looking cool while doing all of the above. If you’ve seen Bullitt (1968), you’ll have an idea of his affection for cars, racing, and winning.

The documentary looks worthwhile, but I must say, after a story as compelling and captivatingly told as Senna (2010) – even for a filmmaking obsessive fan as myself – the story of McQueen shooting Le Mans just cant seem to hold a candle to the story of the biggest racecar driver in the world and his trajectory, and how that film tells its story.

We’ll see if this is any good in November. For now, take a look at the poster before checking out the trailer!
