Tower Block chronicles the struggle of a group of London tenement residents to survive the sudden and random attack of a sniper. Cut off from the outside world, they must band together to find a way to survive and escape their unknown killer. The $26.97 Blu-ray comes with director’s commentary meant to shed light on the psychology behind the characterizations in the film as well as historical context for the economic plight of the residents and the perceived societal apathy towards those in acute need and danger.

MPI Home Video releases Inescapable on home video today. The film follows a father’s search for his daughter amid the turmoil of the Middle East he left behind. The movie comes as a single Blu-ray disc for $29.98 or a single DVD for $24.98.

On the heels of Serena Williams‘ powerful showing at Wimbledon, Magnolia Pictures debuts the documentary Venus & Serena today. The up close look at the legendary sisters boasts unprecedented access to the infamously private duo during 2011, the year Serena suffered a series of possibly career-ending injuries and Venus was diagnosed with a debilitating auto-immune disease. It comes as a single Blu-ray disc for $29.98 or a single DVD for $24.98.

Shout! Factory is bringing two comedy classics to Blu-ray today with The Kentucky Fried Movie and The Producers. Kentucky Fried is the second feature-length film by John Landis, who also directed Michael Jackson‘s Thriller. The movie is a series of parody sketches lampooning television and other movies alike. The precursor to such cult hits as Airplane!Animal House, and The Naked Gun, Kentucky Fried has quite a following of its own, many of whom will be thrilled with the SRP of $19.97 for the new 1-disc Blu-ray. (The DVD is already available in a 1-disc version for $10.68.)

Mel Brooks‘ first feature-length film stars Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder as a Broadway producer and his accountant, respectively. The two hatch a plan to profit off a stage production in a non-stop absurdist joy ride. The Blu-ray is available as a 2-disc set for $29.93; the movie-only DVD is currently available for $15.20.
