A QUIET PLACE PART II (2021): John Krasinski’s Sequel is Set To Open During Memorial Day Weekend

A Quiet Place Part Ii Emily Blunt Cillian Murphy

A Quiet Place Part II is opening Memorial Day Weekend

Finally, the long delayed (due to the pandemic) movie A Quiet Place Part II is seeing itself set to be unveiled on movie screens throughout the country on May 28, 2021. Its distributor, Paramount Pictures, is betting on director John Krasinski’s highly anticipated sequel to bank major box-office even if it opens opposite the more kid-friendly Cruella on the same day. A final trailer for the film is being unleashed by the studio on May 6th. The films stars Emily Blunt (Mary Poppins Returns) in the lead role. Let’s call it Mary Poppins vs. Cruella DeVille at the box-office.

A Quiet Place Part II will continue the terrifying adventures of the Abbott family who fought evil monsters which find their victims through sound. So, basically, make a noise and you could be toast. In the 2018 film A Quiet Place, audiences embraced the idea of having to be quiet to escape death in droves. The first film grossed over $180 million at the domestic box-office.

Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe return from the first picture alongside Blunt to fight the monsters in the film. Cillian Murphy from Batman Begins and Djimon Hounsou from Amistad are both new additions to the cast. Both of these actors were not in the first film. John Krasinski who starred in the first film will make an appearance in flashback sequences in the new picture, according to MSN News.

A Quiet Place Part II was delayed at least a couple of times because of the pandemic and was originally slated to open in 2020. All eyes are on the box-office take of this new film to see if it matches or surpasses the impressive box-office take of the first film.

A Quiet Place (2018) succeeded, in large part due to Blunt’s appealing screen presence and audiences rooted for her and her kids throughout. One major quibble some viewers had with the film was that in the movie’s quieter scenes, you could hear other audience members crunching on their popcorn. But, never mind. As the monsters who thrive on noise pursue Blunt’s character, Evelyn, and her kids in the new sequel, audiences are bound to be kept on their seats throughout.

So keep your eyes peeled for the trailer on May 6th and get ready to jump out of your seat on quite a few instances. If the first film’s scares are any indication, audiences will be anything but quiet while watching this new scare fest on May 28th.
