Roger Christian, the art director for the original Alien film director by Ridley Scott recently confirmed that the upcoming prequel will be shot in 3D. Oh, everyone wants Avatar money now. Mr. Christian has said of Scott’s Alien Prequel plans:
Ridley told me some of his ideas when we were here in Toronto. He has a very clear understanding of where this should go. They kind of stopped dead one of the greatest horror franchises there’s ever been, and it had legs to go on. So I’m hoping he’ll revive another three. The world certainly wants it, and the fans want it – everybody.

I have a lot of faith in Scott. He certainly knows how to direct action and suspense, and when it calls for it he can go intelligent and sublime in his films. Here’s hoping his Alien prequel has a little bit of all of these elements.
