New Movies and TV Shows Coming to BritBox in January 2026

BritBox has announced its January 2026 lineup, including BritBox Originals, BirtBox Exclusives, and the classics, arriving on the streaming service. We’ve compiled the full list of titles along with their premiere dates below.

Shetland Season 10 | BritBox Original, BritBox Exclusive, North America Premiere | 6 x 60’ | Released Weekly
Based initially on award-winning novels by crime writer Ann Cleeves, the new series sees Calder (Ashley Jensen, Mayflies) and Tosh (Alison O’Donnell, Holby City) travel to the isolated hamlet of Lunniswick to investigate the sinister killing of an elderly woman. The team discovers that the body of the retired social worker has been out in the elements for several days.

The case will see Tosh and Calder excavate the victim’s life, past and present, as well as the lives of those who knew her. They soon begin to uncover dark secrets and terrible deeds at the heart of this close-knit community.

As one of three daughters of the wealthy Sir Walter (Corin Redgrave, Four Weddings and a Funeral), Anne (Amanda Root, The Sixth Commandment) is a privileged but lonely member of the English aristocracy.

When her father leaves on a trip, he rents out part of his estate to relatives of Anne’s ex-fiancé, Capt. Frederick Wentworth (Ciarán Hinds, Belfast). Though Anne demurred over the marriage because of Wentworth’s poor social standing and connections, he has since become very successful, and when he visits, Anne must confront the life she left behind.

The cat and mouse thriller tells the story of Huw Miller (Jason Watkins, McDonald & Dodds), a police detective still haunted by the one case that he failed to solve – a stalker who taunted his town, mercilessly toying with his victims before eventually killing them.

As Huw attempts to settle into retirement, the case is never far from his mind – and when new neighbour, Patrick Harbottle (Robson Green, Grantchester), moves in and utters the chilling phrase ‘catch you later’ – the sign off the stalker used to taunt Huw during the investigation – Huw is determined he’s finally got his man.

Set in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, Riot Women centres on five women who come together to form a makeshift punk-rock band to enter a local talent contest. But when it comes to writing their first song, the women soon discover they have a lot more to say than they first thought.

As they juggle life’s struggles, demanding jobs, grown-up children, aging parents, ex-husbands, and relationships, the band becomes a catalyst for change in all of their lives, and the ripple effect is seemingly never-ending. With each episode, a long-buried secret surfaces, entangling the women in an unlikely, complex web that threatens to tear everything apart, including the band.

She’s back! Award-winning and multi-talented, Tracey Ullman returns with a new series of Tracey Ullman’s Show, bringing her unique take on some extraordinary characters in the UK. Recurring favourites include delinquent Dame Judi Dench, Angela Merkel on a tourist bus, and the long-suffering Kay, with her overbearing mother, escaping a flood.

New sketches take in a megalomaniac Nicola Sturgeon, the home life of Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch, and a rap battle for the soul of an inner city estate. All life is here, from a therapist who can’t stop talking about her clients’ secrets, to a spy using the vast resources of GCHQ to improve her daughter’s exam prospects.k

The middle-aged man who ran his app business from a coffee shop in series one has moved on to a shared start-up office. What happens when a dance group from the 1970s gets back together? Chameleon-like Tracey Ullman brings her hilarious take on celebrities and everyday characters to sketches and music numbers, with guest star appearances from Ben Miller and Nigel Havers.

The award-winning and multi-talented Tracey Ullman returns, bringing her unique take on some extraordinary characters. Over the course of the new season, Ullman uses her signature brand of sharp satire to shape-shift into a range of public figures and offbeat original characters.

She reprises her characterisations of Dame Judi Dench, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Jerry Hall. She introduces her takes on British Prime Minister Theresa May, French First Lady Brigitte Macron, and U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, among others.

More topical than ever before, Tracey Ullman’s Show satirizes today’s culture, including television’s latest obsession with strong but messy female characters, the future possibilities for smart-home devices, life in a post-Brexit world, and the absurdity of the 24-hour news cycle. Hamish Macbeth (Robert Carlyle) is the local police constable in Lochdubh in the Western Highlands. He likes fishing, walking in the hills, and can see himself remaining a Highland constable for the rest of his days. Macbeth has two problems. One is crime. The other is promotion. He doesn’t want it – in case he gets moved from his beloved Lochdubh.
