Still Working 9 to 5 is a groundbreaking documentary that examines the fact that American women were once seen by bosses in the workforce in a way that pigeonholed them into distinct, sometimes unfair, career roles. Now, although women have come a long way thanks in large part to the impact the film made on the country, we still may have some work to do to finally give women truly equal roles in society today.

There is a sense of urgency to ensure the guaranteed rights of equal treatment for women in the workforce in today’s climate. This event which is coming up will re-enforce the fact that women deserve equal respect and pay in the jobs they take on, whatever they may be. ERA Coalition Forward will raise funds through this event for this very important cause.

Kelly Clarkson and Dolly Parton created a new song for the forthcoming documentary based on the original 9 to 5″s highly catchy tune. The forthcoming documentary screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival a couple of years back and is finally being set to have a Hollywood premiere fitting for a film of such importance.

Who could forget Dabney Coleman in the role of the boss from hell in the original 1980 movie? Coleman is now 92 years old and had a part in the documentary. Women’s rights such as equal pay and equal treatment are still of great concern at this very moment and this documentary sheds light on the very important topic, reminding people to keep an eye out for steps backwards in the process of making progress.

Still Working 9 to 5 is a wonderfully constructed documentary. Parton, Fonda and Tomlin truly made something of tremendous value with the old 9 to 5 movie and it’s no surprise that Jennifer Aniston has set out to remake it for a new audience that will understand how urgent it is that women be recognized for their unique abilities and contributions which are just as important as anyone else’s. See Still Working 9 to 5 when it becomes available. It’s an unforgettable experience.
