Thoughts on This Week’s In-home Releases

The home releases of Love Again, The Flash, The Last of Us, Breathless, and Les Misérables are the most noteworthy releases (and pre-orders) on home video and streaming services this week.

FilmBook Writer Thomas Duffy reviewed Love Again and had this to say about the film:

While Love Again is enjoyable enough to warrant a recommendation to romance fans, any other audiences will most likely be baffled by the lapses in logic found in the plot. But, if you’re going on a first date, you may find worse ways to get to know someone than discussing the themes found in Love Again after viewing it.

The Flash works as well as it does because of the fun the scriptwriters and the actors are having with the material. It’s a merge of different DC worlds in such a way that the creativity involved comes out victoriously with the knowledgeable movie-goer being the biggest winner.

FilmBook Editor-in-chief Rollo Tomasi reviewed Les Misérables and had this to say about the film:

On camera, it satisfies, rising above expectations at times, especially with some of the history it presents on-screen but the viewer will have seen better musical movies than this, one being the aforementioned mentioned Sweeney Todd. Unlike Hooper, Burton knew when the singing of certain dialogue ameliorated the narrative (and the viewers’ enjoyment of the proceedings) and when it did not.
