EMPEROR: Lionsgate’s Julius Caesar Film will Combine 300 & GAME OF THRONES

Louis Calhern Marlon Brando Julius Caesar

Lionsgate is Making Julius Caesar Movie entitled Emperor. Lionsgate and White Horse Pictures will be producing Emperor, which will look into the lives of young Julius Caesar and Brutus and their rise to power in the Roman Republic. The film will be based on the novel series of the same name by Conn Iggulden. The producers of Emperor will be Nigel Sinclair of White Horse Pictures, Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang Productions, and Mark Canton and Matt Jackson of Atmosphere Entertainment. Canton and Nunnari have previously worked together on 300 and 300: Rise of an Empire.

The two producers mentioned that Emperor will be as action packed as the Zach Snyder films. “Combining the sweep of 300 with the intrigue of Game of Thrones, this is the part of the story of the mighty Julius Caesar that nobody knows — his emergence alongside Brutus as young powerhouses in Rome, a fresh and contemporary retelling of their rivalries, passions and jealousies, captured in a movie with breath-taking action, spectacular visual effects and epic scope.”
