Film Director News: Steve Jobs Biopic, THE STAND, OVERNIGHT, SUNDOWNING

Steve Jobs Biopic, The Stand, Overnight, Snowdowning now have Film Directors. Directors have been selected for the aforementioned films by their respective production studios. For some of the projects, not all the contracts have been signed but insiders say the choices are a pretty safe bet.

The Steve Jobs biopic will be directed by David Fincher. The Stand will be directed by Josh Boone. Overnight will be directed by Ruben Fleischer. Sundowning will be directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Steve Jobs biopic

written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and produced by Scott Rudin…Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon are also on board as producers…The film is based on the Walter Isaacson biography “Steve Jobs,” to which Sony acquired the rights following the Apple mogul’s death in 2011.

Sorkin has publicly said the Jobs biopic will be divided into three long scenes, each taking place backstage before one of Apple’s infamous product launches.

“The first one being the Mac,” he told the Daily Beast. “The second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one being the iPod.”

The Stand

Josh Boone (Stuck In Love) is in talks to rewrite and direct Warner Bros’ The Stand, based on Stephen King‘s post-apocalyptic 1978 book.

Boone will adapt King’s epic novel as a single, R-rated movie that will be faithful to the book.

Overnight

The film, written by Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street), is being compared to Home Alone as it finds “a father and son winning the chance to spend the night inside the new FAO type store but find their sleepover interrupted when thieves break in.”

Sundowning

The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable director is currently filming a small film called Sundowning, which reportedly only has a cast and crew of 10.
