The Wrap reports that unlike the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes, God Particle will be “connected” to Cloverfield subtly, not in an outright way. Undisclosed, upcoming films that are being developed by Bad Robot will be “connected” to Cloverfield in a similar fashion. From these news, it looks as though Bad Robot is aiming at an anthology series for the Cloverfield films.

How the Cloverfield films are connected thus far (via Slashfilm):

[10 Cloverfield Lane] mentions that John Goodman’s character Howard Stamble has something to do with satellites, and the 10 Cloverfield Lane Augmented Reality Game connects the two films further, listing  Stambler as the employee of the month on the Bold Futura website.

Bold Futura is one of the subsidiary companies of the Tagruato Corporation introduced during the 2007 Cloverfield viral/ARG, which was working on the “design, manufacture and integration of advanced technology products for the military, arms manufacturers and space exploration organizations.”

[A satellite] fell from the sky in the background of the concluding Coney Island scene in Cloverfield.

As part of the 10 Cloverfield Lane viral, an audio file was discovered featuring a mysterious transmission from the International Space Station.

God Particle was directed by Julius Onah. The script for God Particle was written by Oren Uziel.

God Particle‘s plot synopsis: “it revolve[s] around a [team of astronauts on an] American space station that, after an accident with a particle accelerator, suddenly finds that Earth has vanished altogether. Things get stranger when they then pick up traces of another space station nearby.”

God Particle stars David OyelowoJohn Krasinski, Elizabeth Debicki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang, John Ortiz, Aksel Hennie, and Daniel Bruhl.
