Hidden Figures Trailer 2

20th Century Fox has released the second U.S. movie trailer for Hidden Figures (2017). Unlike the first U.S. trailer and the international trailer for Hidden Figures shows how assertive Taraji P. Henson‘s character was within NASA and how she was slammed with more and more work in a move to get her character to break. History says she didn’t but it is entertaining in this trailer to see her co-workers trying to do so.

The trailer also features new footage from the film. More than a few of them contain scenes of African-American female mathematicians butting heads with the barriers placed in front of them.

Hidden Figures‘ plot synopsis: based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly, “As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as “human computers”, we follow these women as they quickly rose the ranks of NASA alongside many of history’s greatest minds specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return.

Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer), and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes.”

Theodore Melfi‘s Hidden Figures also stars Kirsten Dunst, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kevin Costner, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, Glen Powell, Kimberly Quinn, Olek Krupa, Ariana Neal, and Saniyya Sidney.
