LEGION: Marvel TV Series Renewed for Season 3 by FX

Legion Renewed for Season 3

FX has renewed Legion. The Marvel Television series has been renewed for a third season. There is no word yet on what storyline Season 3 of Legion will be based on or its episode count. Season 1 of Legion was eight episodes long. Season 2 of Legion will be eleven episodes long.

President of Original Programming at FX, Eric Schrier, had this to say about Legion‘s Season 3 renewal:

“Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season. We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”

As mentioned by Schrier in his statement, Legion is executive produced by John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb as well as Noah Hawley and Jim Chory.

Legion: Season 2 stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jemaine Clement, Lexa Gluck, Nikita Bogolyubov, Ashli Dowling, Jeremie Harris, Christine Horn, Jelly Howie, Bill Irwin, Janis Jones, Caitlin Leahy, Rachael Markarian, and Amber Midthunder.

Legion‘s plot synopsis: “Legion follows the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens), a man who believed he was schizophrenic but discovered he might be the most powerful mutant in the world. With help from a team of specialists, David harnessed his unique abilities and learned he’d been haunted by a malicious parasite. Now, David is all that stands in the way of Amahl Farouk (Navid Negahban) from attaining infinite and world-ending power.”
