Leonardo DiCaprio Will Star as 28th U.S. President Woodrow Wilson

Leonardo Di Caprio Woodrow Wilson Biopic

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Woodrow Wilson. He is undoubtedly the actor that chooses possibly the best and most unique roles in modern cinema and he certainly has affinity for portraying famous historical characters.

The list is long: He starred as King Louis XIV Philippe in The Man with the Iron Mask, as Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can, as Howard Hughes in The Aviator, as J. Edgar Hoover in J. Edgar, and now in 2013 as Jordan Belfort in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. In addition, only recently it was announced that he would portray the infamous Russian adviser of the Romanovs, Grigori Rasputin, in an upcoming film. The role of Woodrow Wilson will also be quite an honorable addition to the impressive career of Leonardo DiCaprio.

It is not a surprise that production companies are aiming for him first when it comes down to casting historical figures-his devotion, versatility, and experience in such roles make him the best possible choice by far.

As far as it goes for the Woodrow Wilson biopic, in all likelihood it will turn out to be a big contender during the awards season. Last year’s film about an American president, Lincoln, performed exceptionally well at the Academy Awards. It became the second Steven Spielberg film to garner 12 Academy Award nominations. The Woodrow Wilson bio-pic is not guaranteed to be a success and Leonardo DiCaprio has not had much luck with awards. The last time he played a historical figure was in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar and the film received unsatisfactory reviews at best. One thing is certain: we are about to see DiCaprio in another marvelous performance.
