Megan Sets Her Eyes on Chucky as Creator Don Mancini Hints at a Potential Crossover

Megan Poised to Take On Chucky in Future Projects

Megan, the robotic doll, is possibly set to take on Chucky in a potential horror movie crossover, according to Don Mancini.

Universal holds the rights to projects featuring both the dolls Chucky and Megan. It’s going to be a lot of fun if “Chucky” creator Don Mancini is correct and such a pairing project comes into fruition. But, according to Mancini, fans should actually be on the lookout for such a collaboration in the not-too-distant future. While you wait, on the streamer Peacock is where you can see these dolls in action in projects of their own.

Though horror movie character-pairing films like Freddy vs. Jason have been marginally successful, the evil Child’s Play character of Chucky has continued to be seen in projects throughout the years while Freddy and Jason seem to be taking a nap in terms of any potential new projects. Now, with this year’s surprise hit, M3gan, there is a new potential foe for Chucky to take on. Megan has a bad attitude but Chucky is much more vulgar and violent than Megan. However, that doesn’t mean Megan can’t find creative way to kick Chucky’s butt in a movie or television series if one comes into actuality.

Mancini cited Annabelle as another modern-day horror female killer doll who is in the spotlight but Warner Bros. owns the rights to the Annabelle/The Conjuring movies so don’t expect those two female dolls to duke it out anytime soon. In the FilmBook review of Megan, I compared the doll character in the movie to Chucky so it’s great to hear of the possibility of a fusion between the two character franchises.

Of course, Megan is a doll made of the most advanced technology which sort of makes her comparable to the robots from The Terminator series in terms of similar movie characters. Megan could use technology as a way to conquer Chucky’s evil and twisted mind games. It’s clear that Megan doesn’t play fair just like Chucky so she could just give the demented doll a run for his money.

M3gan stunned the movie world this January when it came out in theaters and earned an astonishing $95 million domestically. That’s a lot more than the $33 million Child’s Play made in the U.S. and Canada when it premiered back in 1988. “Chucky,” the series, is thriving on Peacock decades after the character premiered while it remains to be seen if Megan can stand the test of time and be successful in future movies or shows featuring the killer doll. Still, fans are anxiously awaiting the face-off of these two horror movie staples.
