The 2010 Melbourne International Film Festival has been announced. The 59th Annual Melbourne International Film Festival “is the largest film festival in Australia with approximately 400 films shown, from more than 50 different countries, and the largest showcase of new Australian cinema. It is also the most attended film festival in Australia...The festival is currently accredited by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Australian Film Institute, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts; and is the only festival in Australia to be accredited by all three.” This year’s festival runs from July 22, 2010 – August 8, 2010.
