MIRANDA’S VICTIM (2023): Vertical Entertainment Picks Up North American Rights to Abigail Breslin Starrer

Abigail Breslin Cast Mirandas Victim

Vertical Entertainment Set to Release New Drama

Abigail Breslin‘s new dramatic film, Miranda’s Victim, has been acquired for release in October by Vertical Entertainment.

Abigal Breslin, Oscar-nominee for 2006’s Little Miss Sunshine and star of the recent 2021 film, Stillwater, has a new drama coming out about a young woman who was sexually assaulted after being kidnapped in the early 1960’s. This movie which was shown at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, is called Miranda’s Victim and is based on a compelling and fascinating true story. This powerful film will be released by Vertical Entertainment on October 6th in North America. It details the story of a very important law that was implemented in America.

Breslin has always made intriguing movies and this picture seems to be a film that will interest viewers especially since the premise surrounds the introduction of the well-known “Miranda Rights.” The man who kidnapped Breslin’s character, Trish, was named Ernesto Miranda and is portrayed in the movie by Sebastian Quinn. Ernesto Miranda didn’t have an attorney present when he made his confession to the crimes he committed. The Supreme Court overturned Miranda’s conviction for his crimes because of this fact.

Luke Wilson will play the prosecutor out to fight Ryan Phillippe’s lawyer (who represents Miranda) for justice. Wilson and Phillippe are two solid character actors and will add some curiosity factor for audiences who will want to see this formidable story that showcases a rather historic story line. Heavy-hitters like Andy Garcia, Taryn Manning, Emily VanCamp, Donald Sutherland and David Lynch regular, Kyle MacLachlan all have roles in the movie as well.

When Abigail Breslin won America’s hearts with her turn in the Oscar-nominated Little Miss Sunshine, she automatically became a talent to take seriously in Hollywood. With her less serious role in 2011’s New Year’s Eve, she proved she could do more basic comedies with almost the same level of success she had with Little Miss Sunshine. Besides her Oscar-nominated role, Breslin is best known for her Zombieland movies and the recent Matt Damon picture, Stillwater.

Miranda’s Victim could be the type of movie that may do rather well on streaming because of its historical importance. Courtroom movies like this one tend to do well with viewers because they are easy to digest and, at the same time, shed light on the complexity of the legal system. The “Miranda Rights” is an important legal concept and its origin story should make for a very solid movie. With Abigail Breslin, Luke Wilson and Ryan Phillippe on board, expect a very good cast to make Miranda’s Victim rise above the rest. Vertical Entertainment is releasing it to paid streaming on October 6th. Don’t miss the opportunity to see it.
