MOTH (2016) Movie Trailer & Poster: The Mothman Myth Lives On

Moth Movie Trailer & Poster Arrive

Moth Movie Trailer. Gergö Elekes and József Gallai‘s Moth (2016) movie trailer stars Rob Oldfield, József Gallai and Lídia Szabó. Moth‘s plot synopsis: “An enthusiastic lecturer and her student travel to Europe to go after the mythology of the Mothman, but they soon have to fight for survival.”

I thoroughly enjoy folklore, myths and tales of terror and paranormal happenings and everything in between. In short, I’m an open-minded nut who loves burning the midnight oil and reading about the possibilities of these things actually existing, and how that would ‘feel’. The Mothman Prophecies (2002) was one of the rare films that takes on a subject like that and actually does it well (say what you will about that ending, but the film handles the tone and atmosphere incredibly well).

Well, now we have another film about the same phenomenon, and it looks fairly disposable. It’s found-footage, the line-readings and English abilities of the actors aren’t great, and frankly – the great thing about the Mothman (at least in the Prophecies film) is that its presence causes things such as time-change, loss of cognitive ability, confusion, etc. It’s not a monster in the woods, waiting to kill you. It’s an entity from another place. Its too much for us to understand. Thats the real appeal, at least for me.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
