MURDER MYSTERY 2: Comic Sequel for Netflix Currently Filming in Hawaii

Murder Mystery Sequel is Now Shooting in Hawaii for Netflix

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston are back at it in the upcoming Netflix comedy, Murder Mystery 2, which is now filming in Hawaii.

When the 2019 comedy Murder Mystery premiered on Netflix, many expected a big hit despite a low critical approval rating thanks to the sheer star power of Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. In the movie, Sandler played a cop who takes his hairdresser wife (Aniston) on a European vacation and gets tangled up in a murder plot. That film did not disappoint in terms of viewership. It set records that have since been broken but it truly did quite well. It has now been reported that the sequel (which was announced last September) is filming in Hawaii and set photos have left people trying to figure out more about the film. They may not figure much out, but Sandler and Aniston are definitely looking pretty good.

These set photos have shown Sandler and Aniston walking beside one another in colorful outfits while Aniston sports a nice big hat. Sandler is seen wearing sunglasses. Sandler is dressed in blue while Aniston is seen wearing a green blouse and a skirt. Some people who have seen the costumes of extras on the set are considering the possibility that Hawaii could be a stand-in for India. More will be revealed as details are eventually unveiled.

Adam Sandler may have gotten snubbed by not getting the Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his terrific performance in the dramatic film Uncut Gems but his comic work opposite Jennifer Aniston has won him fans ever since the 2011 picture, Just Go with It. That movie fared even worse with critics than the original Murder Mystery and comes in with a horrible 19% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, many audiences didn’t care about the reviews as proven by that film’s terrific “A-” CinemaScore rating and $103 million domestic box-office take. It made $214 million total worldwide. Audiences just love the chemistry between Sandler and Aniston.

The original Murder Mystery was watched on 83 million Netflix accounts for at least “two minutes” and was a huge score for the streamer. It landed in the company’s top five most watched movies back upon its release. Since then, movies like Red Notice have stolen some of its glory. Keep in mind that Red Notice cost almost $200 million to make while Murder Mystery didn’t even cost half as much. You can bet that audiences will be streaming the second film in the Murder Mystery series when it is made available on Netflix as people seem to love that undeniable, fun chemistry between Sandler and Aniston. Well maybe not the critics. They probably prefer Aniston’s work on “The Morning Show.” Still, keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming sequel featuring Sandler and Aniston.
