A prequel Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV series has also be announced starring Diego Luna, reprising his role of Cassian Andor. The series will take place “during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One.”

In Marvel Television Universe news, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, will be getting his own TV series on Disney+.

Disney+ will launch in late 2019.

The CW’s New TV Series Receive Additional Episode Orders

The CW’s Charmed, Legacies, and All American have all received additional episode orders. This is a mark of confidence in the rookie TV series. Charmed an additional nine episode order, bringing the first season episode total to twenty-two episodes. Legacies received an additional three episode order as did All American, bringing their first season episode counts to sixteen episodes each.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Sixth Season Premiere Date

The sixth season of NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine will premiere on January 10, 2019, switching to a Thursday night, 9 pm time-slot the following week.

The Blacklist’s Sixth Season Premiere Date

The sixth season of NBC’s The Blacklist will premiere on January 4, 2019 at 8 pm, switching to a 9 pm time-slot the following week.

FKA USA Film Rights Purchased by Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has acquired the film rights to Reed King’s upcoming novel FKA USA.

FKA USA‘s plot synopsis:

FKA USA imagines a United States where, in the wake of environmental disasters and the catastrophic policies of its final president, the Fifty States have seceded and given way to a series of lawless territories. The story centers on four characters – a factory worker in Crunchtown 407 (formerly Little Rock, Arkansas), a talking goat, an android who wants to be human, and a former convict lobotomized in Texas – who are unexpectedly entrusted with a sensitive political mission on which the fate of the world may just depend.

Saving Bravo Film Rights Purchased by 20th Century Fox

20th Century Fox has acquired the film rights to Stephan Talty‘s Saving Bravo: The Greatest Rescue Mission in Navy SEAL History. Andrew Baldwin is writing the screenplay.

Saving Bravo: The Greatest Rescue Mission in Navy SEAL History‘s plot synopsis:

the story is about the rescue mission of Gene Hambleton, an Air Force Navigator who, equipped with classified secrets about advanced rocketry and radar systems, as well as the target cities in the Soviet Union that American missiles were aimed at, is taken down behind enemy lines.

After various attempts by different military branches, Navy SEAL Tommy Norris and South Vietnamese commando Nguyen Van Kiet, disguised as Vietnamese fishermen, evaded 30,000 enemy troops and endured a rocket attack before finding the navigator and bringing him back alive. The story focuses on the brotherhood and sacrifice of the men who gave their lives to save Hambleton.

Red Notice Release Date Moved

The release date for action film Red Notice has been moved from Nov. 13, 2020 to June 12, 2020. The Rawson Marshall Thurber film stars Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson.

The CW buys Strong Girl Adaptation

Melissa Scrivner-Love has sold her American adaptation of Strong Girl to The CW with MMA fighter-turned-WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey as one of its producers.

Strong Girl‘s plot synopsis:

It follows a former war photographer named Rayna who discovers she is indestructible and potentially the strongest woman in the world. Ghosted by her Spec Ops fiance when she reveals her newfound power to him, Rayna is hired as a bodyguard by a billionaire named Oliver, who sees her true potential.
