CBS Orders Secret Six Pilot Episode

CBS has given a production commitment to a pilot episode of DC Comics’ Secret Six, a group of “six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts.” The team is assembled by someone unknown to them, who proceeds to blackmail them into targeting corrupt politicians and corporations.” It is being written by Rick Muirragui.

Wu-Tang Clan TV Series given Full Order by Hulu and Amazon’s Prime Video

A biographical TV series featuring the rise of rap music group Wu-Tang Clan, entitled Wu-Tang: An American Saga, has been given a full TV order by Hulu. The musical TV drama, written by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA, “will be set at the height of the crack epidemic in ’90s-era New York and follow the group’s formation from a group of young black men who grow out of a life of crime into one of the most successful musical groups in American history, having sold 40 million albums worldwide and releasing five gold and platinum albums.”

The Wu-Tang Clan book series, The Wheel of Time, is being made into a TV series by Amazon’s Prime Video.

NBC Orders The Last American Vampire Pilot Episode

NBC has given a production commitment to a pilot episode of Seth Grahame-Smith’s The Last American Vampire, a novel and story about Henry Sturges, “a 500-year-old vampire who’s been locked away for 40 years, believed to be the last of his kind. After a string of mysterious, grizzly murders happens, Sturges is paired with an FBI Agent to figure out if other vampires are the cause.”

50 Cent Given Four Year Over-all Deal at Starz

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has been given a four-year over-all production deal with Starz. The deal will keep new scripted and unscripted developed by 50 Cent, through his G-Unit Film & Television production company, at Starz. This deal includes a three series commitment. Two of those three series include Black Mafia Family and Vanguard.

Black Family Mafia is inspired by the story of Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ Flenory and the intersection of the drug industry and the music industry. Randy Huggins is attached to executive produce. Vanguard, which David Graziano is on board to executive produce, follows the story of Blake Megaton, a recent ex-Navy SEAL, who is forced to return home to Long Beach and face his gangster beginnings, in order to defend his family’s criminal trucking empire from the violent drug cartel who is now trying to wipe them out.

Ozark Renewed For Season Three by Netflix

Ozark has been renewed for a 10-episode third season.

History has Green-lit Five New TV Series and Renewed Seven

History has renewed The Curse of Oak Island, The Curse of Civil War Gold, Truck Night in America, Alone, Mountain Men, and Swamp People.

History has green-lit new TV series Yamashita’s Gold, American Butcher, Ax Men Reborn, Brothers in Arms, and Knight Fight.

Yamashita’s Gold will follow the last great mystery of WWII in which Japanese soldiers, led by General Yamashita, buried a treasure deep in the Philippine jungle. The competition series American Butcher will focus on master butchers carving their way through historical challenges, similar to Ax Men Reborn. Meanwhile, Knight Fight will be a competition series in which modern-day warriors battle using era-specific weaponry and armor, and Brothers in Arms is about two Army veterans who are experts at historical military weaponry.

Fox Orders Kung Fu Pilot Episode

Fox has given a production commitment (with an air date penalty clause) to a pilot episode of Kung Fu, which will feature “a young Chinese-American woman who inherits her father’s kung fu studio, only to find that it houses a secret chamber where he dedicated his life to helping members of the Chinatown community.”
