Texas Ranger Adaptation coming to CBS

James Patterson‘s book Texas Ranger is being adapted as a one hour drama on CBS.

Texas Ranger‘s plot synopsis: “Based on the novel released earlier this year in April that topped the New York Times bestseller list, the series will follow a ranger who moves with his “cantankerous” father to South Florida and becomes a homicide detective in order to solve the murder of his brother.”

Jason Hall, T.J. Brady, and Rasheed Newson will write the screenplay for the pilot episode.

Wrong Turn Reboot in the Works

Constantin Film has green-lit a reboot of the Wrong Turn horror movie franchise. Mike P. Nelson will direct the film. The screenplay writer from the first Wrong Turn film, Alan B. McElroy, will be writing the script for this film.

Wrong Turn Remake’s plot synopsis: “a cross-country hiking expedition puts a group of friends in the land of an inclusive society, where the soon discover they are under a different rule of law, and may not be the victims they throught they were.”

21st Century Fox New / Adjusted Theatrical Release Dates

Death on the Nile will now be released on October 2, 2020.

Ad Astra will now be released on May 24, 2019.

Stuber will now be released on July 12, 2019.

Venom China Release

Venom will be opening in China in November 9, 2018.

The Flash Motion Picture Has Been Delayed

Filming on the stand-alone The Flash film is not expected to begin until 2019, which potentially means the Warner Bros. film will not hit theaters until 2021.

A live action, computer animation hybrid Tom and Jerry film will begin shooting in 2019 for Warner Bros.’ Warner Animation Group. The film will be directed by Tim Story.

Scooby-Doo is coming back to the movie screens as an animated film directed by Tony Cervone. Kelly Fremon Craig is writing the most current screenplay for the film.

The following films: Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME, Jetsons, Flintstones, and Wacky Races, and Space Jam (starring LeBron James) are also on the way.

Grimm Spin-off is Coming

A female-lead Grimm spin-off is being developed by NBC and will be written by Melissa Glenn. The Grimm spin-off is “expected to feature some of the original show’s fan favorite characters while also introducing new characters, new dangers and epic new mysteries.”

Warner Bros not Moving Forward With New Ben Affleck Batman and Henry Cavill Superman Film

Warner Bros has no current plans for future Ben Affleck Batman films and Henry Cavill Superman. Neither possible franchise have any film on the Warner Bros slate in the next few years. It also seems as though Batman will be recast with a no actor.
