POWERS (2014): Trailer Releases at NYCC 2014

Powers Sony

Sony TV Reveals Powers Trailer at NYCC 2014. Sony TV gave audiences at the 2014 New York Comic Con a first look at their first original series Powers, based off of the comic series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming.

The trailer for the upcoming series shows us a little background of Sharlto Copley’s Detective Christian Walker who ends up with a new partner Deena Pilgrim played by Susan Heyward. Christian voices over the trailer talking about how he lost his power of flight and ends up working with the Powers Division of the Police to investigate superpower-related homicides. Captain Cross (Mad Men’s Adam Godley) brings in Deena to help Christian stay on his toes as Christian teaches her about the world of superheroes through his own experience.

The trailer also gave us the first look at Eddie Izzard as the villainous “Bid Bad” Wolfe, and as we see in the video, he easily taunts Christian. We also get an early glimpse at other characters in the series like Retro Girl, Calista and Zora, who are played by The Killings Michelle Forbes, High School Musical’s Olesya Rulin, and Hit the Floor’s Logan Browning respectively. So what did you guys think of the trailer? Will you be catching this on the Sony Playstation Network when it releases later this year?

Powers will be available for Playstation Plus Members on December 2014.
