Anne Hathaway Delves Deep into Her Character in New Film

Anne Hathaway plays a complex role in the upcoming comic and dramatic film, She Came to Me, in which her character has a nervous breakdown.

Anne Hathaway plays an ex-therapist who is something of a perfectionist in her new movie. Her character believes if she does things correctly, it will help things work out in a satisfactory way. Rebecca Miller directed Anne Hathaway’s multi-faceted turn in She Came to Me in which Hathaway plays a character named Patricia. This woman tries to protect those she loves in the picture but things don’t exactly go as planned.

This new picture is set in New York City and revolves around the musician played by Peter Dinklage’s marriage to Hathaway’s character. Patricia suggests that Dinklage’s Steven seek out a muse when his career suddenly hits a brick wall, so to say. Marisa Tomei serves in the film as the unpredictable woman with whom Steven seems to find some solace with.

Hathaway certainly got inside her character to play this role. As a wife and mom in the picture, Hathaway jumped into the characterization of Patricia. Hathaway is said to lend authenticity to the movie through her vivid performance. Playing a mentally distressed woman requires a lot of dedication which the Oscar winner has proven to have in the past regarding the quality projects she chooses to take on.

Both Hathaway and Tomei are Academy Award winners so many are expecting to enjoy their work in She Came to Me. Although billed as a romantic comedy, Hathaway’s take on her character has suggested this film has a lot more depth than your basic “rom-com.”

Dinklage has become one of Hollywood’s most undervalued actors when considering his work in fine movies like Cyrano. When he was cast opposite Hathaway, fans of the stars of She Came to Me immediately took notice. Miller suggested in a recent Variety article that Hathaway’s character in the film has a secret wish that stems from neglecting herself. It will be great to see the actress tackle such a demanding role that should have the usual depth Hathaway tends to bring to her movie roles.

Tomei’s role also sounds fascinating and surprising. As the answer to Steven’s blocked talents in the new movie, Tomei’s part could also add significant substance to Miller’s movie. Bruce Springsteen has also added a song to the picture, “Addicted to Romance,” which could also spell out some of the desires of the main characters in the film. Don’t miss the chance to see She Came to Me to witness three great performers working together in an unpredictable movie. Look for our review this weekend.
