Bruce Springsteen Song to Be Featured in Upcoming Film

She Came to Me, a new film directed by Rebecca Miller, will have a song at the end credits written and performed by the legendary Bruce Springsteen.

“The Boss” himself, Bruce Springsteen, has written a new song which he performed that will play at the credits of Rebecca Miller’s upcoming picture, She Came to Me. Springsteen is no stranger to having his songs showcased in movies. “Streets of Philadelphia” secured the Best Original Song Academy Award and was played in the hit 1993 Tom Hanks film, Philadelphia. The Boss’s new song is called, “Addicted to Romance” and could have a shot at an Oscar nod for next year if it lives up to the music star’s previous work.

Springsteen songs are usually featured in movies that end up getting Oscar nods. “The Wrestler” was another great song by Bruce Springsteen that was showcased in the film of the same name, The Wrestler, which starred Mickey Rourke who secured a Best Actor nod for that picture. One of Springsteen’s most popular songs is “Secret Garden” which helped the love affair in the Tom Cruise 1996 film, Jerry Maguire, blossom. That song could be one of Springsteen’s most romantic songs. Cruise received a Best Actor nomination for his work in that film.

She Came to Me stars Peter Dinklage as a composer who has writer’s block and finds inspiration in a boat captain played by Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei. Also featured in the movie is Anne Hathaway who plays Dinklage’s character’s wife. The movie will be premiering at the Berlin Film Festival on February 16th. As stated, the ending credits will feature the new Springsteen song.

The director of She Came to Me, Rebecca Miller, was so happy to get Bruce on board who wrote the song specifically for the movie. Miller previously directed 2015’s indie success, Maggie’s Plan, which starred Julianne Moore, Ethan Hawke and Greta Gerwig. That film made $3.3 million on the art house circuits and most likely helped Miller yield the big stars who signed on to play in She Came to Me. While Miller knew Springsteen would like the new picture, it was a dream come true to have a song written specifically for her film once Springsteen saw the movie.

Bruce Springsteen is one of the most prolific musical artists working today and his fans are excited to be hearing his new song play in an upcoming feature film. This movie has three stars who are at the top of their game: Dinklage is coming off his award-nominated lead turn in Cyrano, Hathaway has had a couple of films of quality lately such as Armageddon Time and Tomei recently starred in the box-office smash, Spider-Man: No Way Home. She Came to Me will open the Berlin Film Festival and could be in the running for several potential Oscar nods and/or a very successful art house run, at the bare minimum.
