SPA WEEKEND: Funny Lady Anna Faris Cast Alongside Others in a High-Profile Upcoming Comedy

Anna Faris to Return to the Screen in a Movie From Bad Moms Directors
Funny woman, Anna Faris, has been cast in the forthcoming comedy from the directors of Bad Moms titled Spa Weekend.
Anna Faris has been one of the most hilarious comedy stars over the past couple of decades and it will be nice to see her back on the screen in a new role in a star-studded fun fest, Spa Weekend. In the film from Bad Moms filmmakers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, Faris is cast opposite Leslie Mann (This is 40), Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic) and Michelle Buteau (Babes). This fearless comic foursome could help make Spa Weekend a hit.
In Spa Weekend, which is from Suzanne Todd Productions, three friends get together for a spa vacation in Palm Springs. All hell is soon to break loose when a fourth wheel friend comes on board and things spiral out of control. While that premise sounds good on paper, when you envision it with cast members Faris, Mann, Fisher and Buteau, it sounds even juicier.
Faris was in Scary Movie which was the first film in a fun series that spoofed the Scream franchise. She was comedy gold in movies like The House Bunny, What’s Your Number? and the remake of Overboard, not to mention her recurring role on the hit sitcom, Mom, where she played with acting genius, Allison Janney. Faris has that wild sense of humor which makes anything she does stand out as something humorous and entertaining to watch.
Mann is known for her endearing character roles but was very effective in movies like This is 40 and the Sundance fave, Cha Cha Real Smooth. Isla Fisher has a diverse resume that includes doing a voice for the recent movie, Strays, a role in the smash hit funny picture, Wedding Crashers, a lead role in the literary box-office disappointment, Confessions of a Shopaholic and a small part in the 2013 literary reworking of The Great Gatsby. Michelle Buteau came on the scene this year with a bang in Babes which was a modest indie comedy hit.
Directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore made Bad Moms and its perfectly adequate sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas. The original Bad Moms made an astonishing $113 million domestically and another $70 million internationally. The sequel tallied a total of $130 million in worldwide grosses.
Anna Faris had the unfortunate experience of playing in the disappointing The Estate from 2022. Faris, Toni Collette and David Duchovny were the biggest stars who seemed lost in the goofball humor that fell flat in that picture. We’re hoping this new ensemble picture, Spa Weekend, can give Faris the type of project she deserves. With the cast and filmmakers who are backing her up, expect good things with this upcoming comedy.
