After pandemic related delays, the actors for Spider Man 3 are finally arriving on set in Atlanta. Just recently, fans of Tom Holland were excited on social media over the announcement that he had arrived in Atlanta to begin filming, shortly followed by the relatable fan favorite Batalon, who shared a brief glimpse of his new look in the upcoming movie. He revealed an image, which he has since deleted, of himself dressed as Ned on Instagram. Thankfully the Twitter account of Dr. Movie News was able to capture the image before it was deleted.

Batalon’s stunning weight loss can also be seen in a post he made to his Instagram account on October 7th, where shows off his fantastic new look wearing an unbuttoned bomber jacket and dark jeans. He also was seen accessorizing with a beanie and gold chain necklaces. People reports that Batalon’s Hollywood colleagues congratulated him for his weight loss, with Tom Holland’s brother Harry Holland tweeting “Wow” and Colin Ford adding “killing it bro!!!”

In Spider Man: Far From Home, we saw Batalon’s character Ned on a vacation with Peter Parker, MJ, and their classmates. Ned found himself involved in the battle between Spider Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), as well as in a romantic entanglement with his classmate Betty Brant played by Angourie Rice.

Spider Man will find himself in a tough spot when he returns for his third solo feature, because his identity was outed to the world at the end of the previous film, leaving him in a precarious position. We don’t know yet how Batalon will fit into the story, but perhaps his new trim physique means he may be getting in on the superhero action. And there’s certainly going to be a lot of it. Jamie Foxx will be returning as Electro, and Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Doctor Strange.

Sony Pictures had announced that the new Spider Man movie would be produced by Marvel Studios last September, just weeks after the two studios failed to reach an agreement for Holland to remain in the MCU. The untitled Spider-Man sequel is set to premiere on December 17th, 2021.
