Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse 2 Has Begun Production

Superhero film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 (2022) has officially begun production. Sony Pictures Animation Lead Animator Nick Kondo made the production announcement on Twitter:

The first Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released on December 14, 2018. That film made $375.3 Million at the worldwide box office and received numerous awards, including: Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards, 46th Annie Awards, 24th Critics’ Choice Awards, and 76th Golden Globe Awards.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s plot synopsis: “Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.”

Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman‘s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse starred Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber, Mahershala Ali, Luna Lauren Velez, Melanie Haynes, Muneeb Rehman, and Lily Tomlin.
