SUPERGIRL: Odette Annable to Play Season Three Villain Reign [The CW]
Supergirl Casts Odette Annable to Portray Season 3 Villain Reign
The second season finale of Supergirl teased the arrival of the next villain for the upcoming season who’s called Reign. It seems like The CW has already found an actress to play season three’s Big Bad as Odette Annable will be portraying the Wordkiller in the series.
It was in the season two finale last week when it was revealed that Reign was also sent to Earth at the same time as Kara (Melissa Benoist). It’s already official as TVLine reported that Odette Annable to will play the DC Comics villain during the upcoming third season premiering this fall. However, this character won’t closely resemble the comics on the show as it was revealed that the villain will ‘differ visually’ on screen. So we probably won’t see Reign looking like an alien and perhaps looking more human. In the comics, Reign is considered a Worldkiller, which was a biological weapon created by the Kryptonians before they were eventually outlawed. She has been an enemy of Supergirl since her incarnation.
Odette Annable’s casting will have her reunite with EP Greg Berlanti, who worked on her other series Brothers & Sisters. “Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Odette for years,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. “We are beyond excited to have her join our cast in the scary, powerful and heartbreaking role of Reign.” It should be some perfect casting as Odette happens to have some experience in fight choreography when she was on Banshee.
What do you guys think of this latest casting? Will Odette play a ruthless Reign well?
