Transformers 3: The Dark of the Moon may be the new official title for the third Transformers film directed by Michael Bay. Strangely info, the hint at the new title came from three book listings on Amazon. The Transformers 3: The Dark of the Moon info is as follows:

Amazon.com has listed 3 new books that scheduled to be released in 17th May 2011. These new books are presumed to tie in with the 3rd installation of Transformers Live Action Movie. With this also revealed the title of Transformers 3. The books are:

a) Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Secret of the Autobots

b) Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Autobots Betrayed!

c) Transformers: The Dark of the Moon: Invasion of the Decepticons

“Also according to DomainTools.com, the Transformersthedarkofthemoonmovie.com has been created in 13th September 2010.”

Dark Side of the Moon was already taken by Pink Floyd so I’m guessing producers went with The Dark of the Moon instead. There is also a play entitled Dark Side of the Moon. The Dark of the Moon, Transformers 3 title is given backing by its opening scene description:

There’s a disturbance on the Moon. A robot shaped disturbance. Scientists on Earth see this and the information gets passed up the chain of command. In the White House men in black suits are breathlessly running through the halls, and they burst into the Oval Office. The president is behind the desk, back turned to the door, looking out the window. One of the men tells the president, ‘Sir, something’s happened on the Moon!’ The president turns around.

It’s John F. Kennedy.

…the opening scene of Transformers 3 takes place in 1961 or 1962. The gist of the story has to do with the Transformers’ involvement in the space race, and this is the reason why JFK was so hot to make sure America was first to the Moon.

An official announcement on the title should be coming soon. When it does, we will post about it. To be sure not to miss out on our upcoming Transformers 3 coverage, consider subscribing to us.
